Google says that this year’s awards “aren’t just about showcasing amazing apps, games and books”. The company says that they’re also “a thank you” to the talented developers that make Android so “vibrant”.

Here’s a list of Google Play’s best apps, games & books… according to Google

Google also said that in 2024, Google Play became “more than just a store”. The company improved discoverability, expanded gaming options, boosted rewards, and so on. Alright, let’s get to it.

The very best app this year is called ‘Partiful’. It’s an event planning platform. Google praised its “intuitive design” and “fresh twist on invite creation”.

The best game, on the other hand, is called ‘AFK Journey’. Google praised its “expansive roster of characters and satisfying tactical bale system”. It’s a fantasy RPG game, by the way.

Google crowed ‘Max’ as the best multi-device app. The company said that Max has a vast library of television shows, movies, and original content, while it offers support for a multitude of devices.

The best-multi-device game, on the flip side, is ‘Clash of Clans’. This is a well-known game in the Android world, and it’s now available on both PCs and Chromebooks too, in addition to tablets, foldables, and smartphones.
