Pisa president Giuseppe Corrado has revealed that they would like to sign Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro permanently, but Inter Milan have the final say on his future, Soccernet.ng reports.
Akinsanmiro joined Inter Milan’s academy from Nigerian side Beyond Limits in 2023, and he has continued to grow since then. However, he has not been considered to join the senior team yet.
He spent last season on loan at Serie B club Sampdoria. But, after a decent campaign with the club, he returned to his parent club Inter Milan.
Then, during the summer, he joined newly-promoted Serie A club Pisa in another season-long loan.
At Pisa, the 21-year-old midfielder has improved his game and has established himself as one of the most important players at the club.
Can Pisa Sign Ebenezer Akinsanmiro?
Ebenezer Akinsanmiro signed a one-year loan contract at Pisa last summer. But the deal was a bit complicated.
There was an option-to-buy clause in the Nigerian midfielder’s contract that Pisa have the opportunity to use.
But even if Pisa exercise that option, Inter Milan will have the final say. This is as they have a buyback clause included in Akinsanmiro’s contract.
So if they sell him now, they can always get him back soon if they are impressed by his growth and performances.
Pisa president Corrado spoke about the issue after their game against Inter Milan on Sunday, and he revealed the true situation with the Nigerian midfielder.
“Akinsanmiro is a strong player, he’s Inter Milan’s, but we have the right to buy him,” Corrado said, per Napoli Magazine.
“Of course, Inter also have the option to buy him back, but he’s a player we believe has found the ideal place to grow at Pisa. We would have liked to have him.”
Akinsanmiro has been injured for the last three weeks, so he has missed Pisa’s last two games. However, he is expected to return against Parna on December 8.
