The All Progressives Congress has rejected the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu by the governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke.

The party also described the Osun State governor as a “liability” and a “Trojan horse” to the Peoples Democratic Party.

Kola Olabisi and Tajueen Lawal, the director of media and information and chairman of the Osun APC in a statement said the party cannot welcome Adeleke.

The duo stating that the governor suffered a defection plot, added that Adeleke cannot become part of the APC due to his alleged baggage.

“Governor Ademola Adeleke was rejected because he was quickly identified as a Trojan horse, a big baggage and liability that would hurt the integrity of the APC,” the statement said

They further claimed that the governor had earlier sought refuge in the APC for fear of losing the forthcoming 2026 governorship election in Osun State.

According to them, the APC deliberately shut the governor out of every defection plan.

Expressing satisfaction over the treatment meted to the governor by the APC members and its leadership, the duo endorsing President Bola Tinubu for his 2027 re-election bid will not save the governor.

“It is no longer news that the Osun PDP has become a leprous house deserted by decent politicians with the intention to serve the people.

“From 2023 when the party began to morally emaciate and became a war loot of the Adeleke dynasty, bright minds and people with good names to protect, who could not tolerate the deceit, shenanigans and high-levelled corruption and brigandage the Adeleke government represents, daily troop out from the tattered umbrella into our party, thus leaving the PDP with carcasses and political dregs with no structure and hope to retain power in future elections,” the statement added.
