House of Reps Confirms 46 Proposals For New States, 117 For LGAs in Constitution Review

House of Reps has confirmed receiving 46 proposals for new states and 117 for LGAs in constitution review.

 

NaijaOnPoint Nigeria reports that the House of Representatives Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution has officially acknowledged receiving 46 proposals for the creation of new states and 117 requests for additional local government areas (LGAs) from across Nigeria.

 

This was revealed in a document released by the committee detailing submissions from various geopolitical zones.

4. Amana State – from Adamawa

8. New Kaduna State – from Kaduna
9. Hadejia State – from Jigawa
10. Gobir State – from Sokoto
11. Kainji State – from Kebbi and Niger
