Big Brother Naija ‘Level Up’ housemate Doyin David has opened up on how she was dropped by a brand and admitted to being fake on the hit reality show.
In an interview with Live With Lynda, she disclosed that her first run in the show, the Level Up season, wasn’t her best, so she returned for the All-Stars show.
She admitted to being fake on the show as she stated that the narrative that she is mature and lives to play a mediator is false as she is the type who fights.
Speaking on being an influencer, she disclosed that she once got dropped by a brand because of an interview she did, and to be fair, she deserves it.
“My first run wasn’t my best run, to be honest. I have been on the show twice, and I came out of the show, and I hated it. I was fake. I came out with the narrative that Doyin is too mature. She is always trying to talk things out; that’s not really me oo. In real life, I fight.
I am not a content creator.
Influencers are people who try to sell a product to their audience. I think content creators can be influencers, but I don’t think influencers can be content creators.
There is no bad or good brand. I had a brand that dropped me. They had signed me and paid me the money, but they called and asked for a refund, and it was because of an interview I did. And to be fair to them, I deserved to be dropped because why did I talk?”.
Similarly, Level Up winner Phyna last year recounted how her controversies and scandals made her lose 17 brand deals. She revealed how a brand rejected working with her because they felt she was an abuser after a blog made a false accusation about her and Groovy.
The reality star stated that the trolling on social media negatively affected her as she lost 17 brand deals between 2022 and 2023.
In other news, a few weeks back, Doyin shared a throwback picture of her back in secondary school as she spoke about her haters and how she would continue to ignore the haters. Doyin disclosed on her Twitter page that she has been fending off haters for the longest time.
In March 2024, the reality star told ladies to avoid pøor men. She stated that nobody suffers more than an understanding girlfriend in a relationship.
The controversial reality star had also shared her perspective on dating, explicitly stating that she cannot date somebody on the mainland because of their brokenness.
