Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has opened up about her battle with cancer.

In an interview on Oyinmomo TV, Temitope revealed that she was told she had cancer and that further tests would be carried out on her. She further disclosed that the doctors told her she wouldn’t be able to conceive for the next 5 years because of the medications she has to take, as they could affect the baby.

Temitope said hearing that broke her down as she noted how she is 38 and had to wait till her 40s before conceiving. However, she said she rejected the report, held onto her faith, and began praying and fasting. Luckily for her, after her CT scan, it was discovered that the cancer hadn’t spread, and she had undergone a second surgery to remove the remaining tumour.

“I was told I had cancer and that further tests would be carried out to check how far it had spread. The doctors also said I wouldn’t be able to conceive for the next 5 years because of the medications I’d have to take, as they could affect the baby. Hearing that at 38 years old was devastating. I couldn’t imagine waiting that long. But I rejected the report and held on to my faith in God. I began the journey with prayer and fasting, combining both the medical and the spiritual. When I did a CT scan, it came out negative; the cancer hadn’t spread. Eventually, they performed a second surgery to remove the remaining tumour”.

Recall that in February, last year, in an interview with her colleague, Biola Bayo, Temitope recounted a traumatizing moment of sexual assault by her uncle after she moved to her grandmother’s house. This affected her career to some extent and she suffered depression because of her inability to make ends meet.

Following her emotional interview, Biola Bayo announced the return of Temitope to the movie industry. She appealed to movie directors, producers, and production managers to send scripts to her as she is fully back on her feet. She appealed to them to remember her when casting and to give her support.

In November, of that year, her senior colleague, Foluke Daramola revealed that Tope had gone through breast surgery as she appreciated the public for their assistance and called for more.

During her birthday in December, Tope had received a car from an anonymous Nigerian. Foluke shared a video of the moment she surprised her with the car. An overjoyed Tope Osoba broke down in tears as she appreciated Foluke for her support.
