Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola has opened up on her 2023 campaign and support for President Tinubu, which cost her a lot.
In a recent interview, she claimed that her rigorous participation in the election made her lose two major deals worth N10 million and N15 million, plus two ambassadorial contracts.
Foluke expressed disappointment in the president, noting how he didn’t follow the original plan to make his administration youth-oriented. She admitted that Tinubu’s government hasn’t been youth-inclusive.
Foluke, however, expressed pride in the president’s son, Seyi Tinubu, who she noted was doing his best. The voluptuous actress said she doesn’t regret working for him, but it wasn’t their plan
“He didn’t follow the original plan. Honestly, we thought it was going to be youth-oriented. When you’re actively involved in something, you can see both the good and bad sides. Go and check, we often praise past presidents because we don’t really know what goes on inside, but the reality here is that this government hasn’t been youth-inclusive.
Yes, his son is doing his best, and I wouldn’t say I regret working for him, but this was not the plan. The plan was to involve as many youths as possible.
One thing most presidents have in common is removing the fuel subsidy, which worsened the situation by making everything more expensive. If people were truly involved in the decision-making, it would be different, but we’re not being carried along.
The truth is, the way I was in 2023 won’t be the same way I’ll be in 2027. I know exactly what I lost without collecting a single kobo: two major deals worth ₦10 million and ₦15 million, plus two ambassadorial contracts because of this election.”
Recall that during the 2023 election, Foluke was one of the few celebrities who unashamedly campaigned for Tinubu.
Foluke, alongside Joke Silva, had joined the APC women’s rally to support him, and she was appointed as the Assistant Director for the media department.
While speaking on her and her husband’s different political stance, Foluke vowed to stick with Tinubu till the end. She declared that her husband’s role with the Labour Party wouldn’t affect her assignment with Tinubu.
In an Instagram post, Foluke had unashamedly declared her love for Tinubu. The busty actress added that she and other supporters love Tinubu till death.
