“How I was accused of stealing gold in the UK” – Actor Mustapha Sholagbade’s babymama Adewunmi Fatai spills (Video)

Nollywood’s biggest makeover artist and the baby mama of actor Mustapha Sholagbade, Adewunmi Fatai, has recalled an embarrassing moment she experienced in the UK.

In an interview with Biola Bayo on the Talk to B podcast, Adewunmi recalled being accused of stealing gold in the UK and noted how many in the industry knew about the allegation.

The single mother of one further revealed that the accused urged people to take her son away from her. According to her, she cried when she learnt of the accusation and told her mum, who also broke down in tears.

Adewunmi also spoke about how a married woman in the industry belittled her for being a baby mama and how Dele Ogundipe and Oluwole Cole Baraka paved the way for her in the industry. The makeover artist sang the praises of actress Yetunde Barnabas, whom she described as her best producer.

“I travelled out, and I was accused of stealing gold. This is no longer news in the industry, and I didn’t even know. The lady told her mother on the phone that I was a thief. She said my son should be taken away from me.

I cried. When I told my mummy on the phone, she was crying.

The battle in the industry is more than a generational curse. But God used someone, Dele Ogundipe, for me when I was growing up as a beautician. The first person who bought me a makeup box when I started was Oluwole Cole Baraka.

How a married woman in the industry belittled me for being a babymama at an event. When people were served food, she told me to wait and said that only married women would get food first, and I was just a baby mama.

Adewunmi isn’t the only one who has been accused of stealing gold. Last year, actress Lizzy Anjorin was accused of defrauding a jewellery vendor at the Lagos Island market, Idumota. Videos that made rounds online showed the Yoruba star embroiled in a gold jewellery theft on Lagos Island. Lizzy took to her Instagram Live to debunk the reports and blamed it on people like Iyabo Ojo trying to set her up.

Recall that Adewumi Fatai was in a serious relationship with Mustapha Sholagbade but the two called things quit over her erratic behavior. Mustapha accused her of always raining curses on him and his mother, and alleged that she left with the baby when he was just 41 days old, among other things.

Following their separation, Mustapha got remarried on Saturday, August 12 in Oshogbo, Osun State.

On his birthday in 2023, Fatai disgraced him, as she called him out for being a deadbeat father. She listed out the several things that Mustapha had failed to do for his son.

In an interview in March last year, Adewunmi opened up on their messy break-up, which she learned about on the internet. She noted how she and Mustapha were still together when he granted an interview, revealing why he couldn’t marry her.
