In an interview with actress Biola Bayo on the “Talk to B” podcast, Adeola shared harrowing details about her trafficking experience. She explained that she was misled into going to Mali under the pretence of seeking better opportunities. “I met someone who introduced the idea of travelling to Mali to me. She deceived me by saying there were job opportunities at a pharmacy there. I agreed to go without informing anyone,” Adeola said. “We traveled by road through Cotonou, Togo, Ghana, and other countries for four days. Upon arriving in Bamako, Mali, I called the contact I had been given. It was only when I got to her house that she told me she had bought me for N250,000 from my sister, and that I would need to work to pay her back 1.5 million CFA. She said I was there for prostitution.” Adeola mentioned that she eventually managed to escape from the brothel by securing a job with a food vendor.
