Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has opened up on why she underwent body enhancement surgery.

In a recent interview, the mother of three revealed she did it to regain confidence and protect her mental health. She explained that her body changed significantly after childbirth, leaving her unhappy with her appearance.

She said that growing up, she was busty, but she never had an hourglass figure and having babies worsened things. According to her, after her third child, she didn’t like the way she looked, and she felt she owed it to herself to be happy and confident.

She emphasised that she did the surgery for herself and her mental health, and not anyone else.

“Growing up, I was b¥sty, but I never had an hourglass figure. Having babies made things worse. After my third child, I didn’t like the way I looked. I felt I owed it to myself to be happy and confident. I did the s¥rgery for me, not anyone else, for my mental health, to feel good and enough”.

Ogbodo emphasised that she chose to be transparent about her procedure, unlike her colleagues in the industry, because honesty is important for a public figure who serves as a role model.

“In this country, people are hardly transparent, especially celebrities. You’re a star, but you lie to those who admire you. Why should you disappear and return with a perfect body, pretending you were born like that? I believe in encouraging women with my own experiences”.

Speaking on her butt enlargement, Uche said that undergoing three cesarean sections had altered her physique, making it difficult to maintain her body naturally.

“Nobody is perfect, especially mothers who have gone through s¥rgeries. I did mine three times. I won’t just vanish and come back with a flat tummy and round hips without admitting I worked on myself”.

She added that her husband fully supported her decision, understanding her struggles and challenges. On the risks involved, she said, “There’s d@nger in everything, even in having malaria. But I wasn’t afraid because I was in the right hands.”

Kemi Filani reported in May that in celebration of her 39th birthday, Uche had gifted herself a tummy tuck surgery. The movie star shared a video of her in a hospital as she urged her fans to pray for her.

In a follow-up post, Uche shared her first video after her tummy tuck procedure, as she expressed gratitude to her Maker and appreciated her doctors.

Giving fans more update via her Instagram page, she shared a video of herself taking her first meal, revealing that she has been crying and smiling throughout.

The movie star had also gifted herself a new teeth as birthday gift.
