The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the results of the May/June 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), taken by over 1.9 million secondary school students across 23,000 schools in Nigeria.
Announcing the results on Monday, WAEC’s Head of National Office (HNO), Amos Dangut, said all processes leading to the release had been successfully concluded despite some challenges during the conduct of the examination.
Dangut said, “Today, I am happy to announce to you that all the processes leading to the release of the results have been concluded.”
He acknowledged that, despite some hitches during the exam period, WAEC was able to overcome them to ensure a smooth and credible examination process.
Naijaonpoint reports that Dangut revealed a significant drop in overall student performance compared to previous years.
“There is a 33.8 percent decrease in candidates’ performance this year,” he disclosed.
