Howard Stern’s SiriusXM Show Reportedly Axed

Howard Stern’s time at SiriusXM is reportedly coming to an end after 20 years on the platform.

According to sources, Sirius cannot keep paying him his mega salary anymore.

“Sirius and Stern are never going to meet on the money he is going to want,” one source told The Sun, adding that “it’s no longer worth the investment” to keep paying his salary, which is rumored to be around $100 million a year.

The source says that while SiriusXM will likely work out a deal to hold onto his audio library, his salary is way too large to continue hosting him and that his political views may also be getting them into hot water.

“If Sirius isn’t going to give Stern a good offer, I don’t think it would have anything to do with his ratings,” the insider continued. “It’s more likely everything to do with the political climate.”

“After you saw what happened with Stephen Colbert, it’s like they just can’t afford to keep him going.”

Stern made that jump to SiriusXM back in 2006 and still remains one of their biggest draws. Sources from Stern’s camp say he may do a 1-2 year contract if Sirius is able to meet his financial requests.
