Celebrity fashion designer, Veekee James has revealed that false stories about her marriage almost affected her mental health.

Veekee, while appearing on The Nancy Isime show shared that the false reports pushed her close to depression.

She recalled spending days alone in her room, crying and praying for strength.

Faith and patience helped her overcome the stress and regain her peace of mind.

She said, “I think it was a story about how I was stolen from a friend and we were sleeping with each other. You know, this is happening.

“And so many of them were all lies.

“It almost put me in depression, you know? And that was like the first time in my life I got to understand what people who say that they are depressed feel.

“I remember entering into my room and I didn’t come out for like two days. I was there crying and praying.

“And I told God, you know the story. If you know that these are all lies that they’re saying about us, help us get through this without this ruining my brand.

“I remember praying and waiting on God for days. And the way he brought me out, it was like a miracle. And then I kept seeing stories upon stories.

“And for some reason, it was just so easy for me to just laugh about it.”

The fashion entrepreneur also explained how she handles online criticism.

While her brother advised her to ignore negative comments, she prefers to read them, reflect, and ensure she is acting correctly.

Speaking about her marriage, Veekee said she waited on God’s guidance before confirming Femi as the right partner.

She added that she plans to raise children who will be visible role models and showcase their talents publicly.

Femi Atere described himself as a private person who remains unaffected by online opinions.

He said he supports Veekee’s public persona while keeping a reserved presence in their family life.
