Last year, I made 52m after seven days; this year, I made 134M after seven days. That is over a 157.69% increase. God, I am that woman who returns to say thank you.

To my fans and everyone who has watched Alakada: Bad and Boujee, thank you. Despite everything, you stood your ground and made me a happy woman. Ẹṣé gan ó. Mo dúpé.

To the cinemas, especially the ones that have made it clear that their goal is for the industry to grow and support every movie irrespective of who is distributing it, thank you. And to those cinemas that made it clear they don’t want us to succeed, God has proven Himself to be greater than man—thank you, Lord.

Please, everyone, Alakada is still showing in cinemas nationwide. Let’s keep watching it. Thank you once again for watching”.

A few days back, Toyin made a lengthy appreciation note, thanking her fans for wholeheartedly supporting her new project Abraham, however, subtly shaded those who entice their fans with gifts at the cinema.

Her post stirred backlash and in another post, Toyin Abraham set the record straight by explaining the misinterpreted context in her appreciation post. She kindly noted that she was appreciating those who watched the movie without demanding a gift. She revealed further some of the feedback her colleagues who have supported her at the cinema told her.

In September, Toyin had slammed a fan of Funke Akindele, for putting down her hard work.
