Nigerian singer Akande Abolore Adegbola Alexander, better known as 9ice, has stunned the internet with a bombshell revelation about his religious life.

In an interview with Nancy Isime for her show, The Nancy Isime Show, he revealed that the devil controls music and he is the choirmaster. 9ice declared that he isn’t a Christian nor a Muslim but a Babalawo.

“Devil controls music. Devil is the choirmaster. I am not Christian, I’m not Muslim, I’m an herbalist. I tell people, and they run away from me. I’m African. That’s what I practice. I have found my own light in my own way”.

9ice referenced late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, noting how he used to go to Ogun and people questioned his bizarre behaviour.

He shared a belief that shaped his journey, noting how God said he would never come to us in a different language. According to him, someday people will understand that the Black continent is for Black people and that we have our own messages.

“God said, ‘I will never come to you in a different language from your people. You will understand later that this black continent is for black people, and we have our own messages.

Similarly, Small Doctor had raised eyebrows as he sent a message to Christians. The singer reminded Christians it was another day to remind them that God doesn’t exist.

Also, singer, Brymo had declared he doesn’t believe in religious hell, while adding that should he find himself in hell, he desires to go alone as he goes everywhere alone.

To top it off, Omah Lay had expressed disinterest in religion, as he admitted that he used to be religious, till he gained fame and started making money and now has backslid.
