Big Brother Naija star Queen Mercy Atang has confirmed that her marriage to David Oyekanmi has ended, following months of public speculation about their relationship.
The confirmation came after a follower admired her beauty and asked if she was still married.
Queen responded that she is single and not available, clearing every doubt about the state of her union.
The fan wrote: “Queen, hope you’re still married because Asa, you’re too beautiful to be single.
She responded: “Single and unavailable”.
The reality star’s marriage had been under public watch since August, when both she and David stopped following each other on Instagram.
Around the same time, David appeared in several photos without his wedding ring, raising more questions among fans.
Queen also deleted his pictures from her page and removed his name from her bio, which further fueled the talks.
In October last year, Queen’s seven-month marriage faced another storm as she unfollowed her husband again.
The situation seemed unclear until December, when she travelled to the UK to spend Christmas with him.
They shared moments online, showing that they were trying to mend things, and she even mentioned returning to her duties as a wife.
David also welcomed her warmly and assured her he would take care of her.
The couple had their introduction ceremony in Akwa Ibom, attended by friends and colleagues, before legally sealing their marriage at the Federal Marriage Registry in Lagos.
Their wedding took place in March, shortly after the introduction ceremony.
