Rotimi Amaechi, a former minister of transportation has denied insinuations that he belongs to the crop of politicians who rig elections in Nigeria.
Amaechi who spoke firing a conversation on X Spaces on Saturday, August 9, said he has never rigged an election.
A two-time former governor of Rivers State, Amaechi challenged any individual, politician or group with evidence of his participation in any form of rigging to come forward.
He stated that the rigging process usually involves governors and the diversion of state funds through government agencies.
“I challenge any politician, living or dead, to come forward and say I was part of rigging,” Amaechi said.
Further highlighting some of his political plans ahead of the 2027 general election, Amaechi who also announced plans to contest for the office of the president said he has no plans to rig the poll.
“I will never participate in any rigging whatsoever, and I will not do it. What I promise to do now, going forward, is to stop rigging.
“I challenge any Nigerian to produce evidence that I participated in any election rigging, and I will apologise for that,” Amaechi added.
