Sosoliso plane crash survivor and singer, Kechi Okwuchi, has undergone yet another surgery, this time on her eyelid.
Naijaonpoint reports that the America’s Got Talent finalist disclosed the development on Sunday, September 14, through her social media platforms, sharing photos of herself on a hospital bed three days after the operation.
Okwuchi, who miraculously survived the December 10, 2005, plane crash that claimed 106 lives, including 60 of her schoolmates, revealed that she has now undergone about 140 surgeries.
Her resilience has made her an inspiration to many, with her story of survival and recovery widely celebrated.
Explaining why the surgery was necessary, Okwuchi said the skin around her eyelid had become tight, making it difficult for her to close her eyes or blink properly, a condition that began to affect her vision.
“Currently 3 days post-op from eyelid surgery. The skin on my eyelids is tight, making me unable to close my eyes or blink properly, which started to affect my eyesight, hence the need for surgery. My last surgery was in 2019 so it’s kinda weird to be back here after so long lol,” she wrote on her social media pages.
Naijaonpoint reports that despite the challenges, Okwuchi expressed optimism that she will be okay and continue to inspire her followers with her trademark resilience and positivity.
