Nollywood actress and producer Mercy Aigbe Adeoti has sent a warning message to her stylist and designer over corset dress.
Taking to her Instagram page, the box office Queen who is gearing up for the premiere of Farmer’s Bride, told her stylist that she is tired of corset outfits. She questioned why they love styling their clients in corset dresses.
“As we are gearing up to the World Premiere of the blockbuster Farmer’s Bride, happening tomorrow, please, please guys, help me beg my stylist/designer that I do not want a corset outfit!!! Mbanu! Kilode!

Mercy Aigbe’s PSA to her stylist is much needed as many celebrities have been caught on cameras struggling to breathe in corset dresses.
In February, Bimbo Ademoye left her fans and lovers concerned for her health at Kunle Afolayan’s Anikulapo Series: The Rise of the Spectre premiere. In a viral video, Bimbo was seen battling for her life as she struggled to breathe over her outfit. The award-winning actress wore a corset dress, which made it difficult for her to breathe well.
Last year, Iyabo Ojo had sparked concern among netizens over her uncomfortable outfit at her colleague, Kunle Afod’s birthday party. Iyabo had turned up in the blue asoebi wearing a tight outfit, which made it difficult for her to breathe or talk.
Also, Toyin Abraham had trended online after she showed up at an event wearing an outfit made of a tight-fitting corset that made it uneasy for her to breathe and move around freely. Poking fun at herself, Toyin admitted that she couldn’t breathe as she quoted the popular phrase, ‘fashion is pain’, to defend her reason for the outfit.
Similarly, Skitmaker and social media influencer Amarachi Amusi, popularly known as Ashmusy, was also captured struggling to breathe over a tight outfit. The beautiful influencer was captured in a viral social media clip trying to board a car uncomfortably.
Nkechi Blessing, had the same fate as she attended Mercy Aigbe’s movie premiere, Ada Omo Daddy. The movie star, via her Instagram page, shared her experience with the corset as she disclosed how she felt discomfort and difficulty in breathing while wearing the corset dress, which was worth 1.5 million Naira.
To top it off, in 2022, fans had expressed concern for Fuji singer KWAM1’s wife, Emmanuella Ropo, over her outfit at his 50 years on stage. A video which was captured by Goldmyne TV showed Emmanuella looking unease and uncomfortable in her seat.
