Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has replied to critics about her declaration of love for social media activist Very Dark Man.

Kemi Filani reported on Wednesday that following the release of VDM, Sarah, via her Instagram page, welcomed him home as she stated that her night would be better. Calling VDM her sweet husband, she affirmed her love for him.

Her declaration of love for the activist didn’t sit well with netizens, who mercilessly dragged her.

Replying to them via her Instagram page, she noted how she and VDM have the same last name. The upcoming actress said they are officially married in her heart as she urged her haters and critics to leave them alone.

“I see all the hate comments on Instablog concerning my undying love for my Prince Charming VDM.
In case you haven’t noticed, I have his last name “Martins”, Sarah Martins… Vincent Martins. We are officially married in my heart. If you can’t wish us well, pls leave us alone.

It’s 2am and I’m still awake thinking of my baby.
Y’all, he’s mine, period”.

Sarah Martins defends her love for Very Dark Man

On VDM’s birthday in April, Sarah had professed love for him. She described him as her baby and wished him endless blessings.

Last year, a fan of Very Dark Man blessed Sarah Martins with N800k for dressing smartly. Sarah recounted how her comment on VDM’s page left a fan drooling over her to the point of gifting her cash.

Despite his controversial lifestyle, many celebrities stood up for VDM during his arrest.

Taking the lead,  veteran actress, Rita Edochie had called for his freedom, as she stated that the activist is the only young man who is societally outstanding. She stated that if VDM is silenced, no one is ready to take his place in lending a voice to society.

Davido said that outside of the noise, it’s good to see the good that Very Dark Man did impacting lives and people actually appreciating it. The Grammy nominee added that seeing people show support for VDM was encouraging as he called for the activist’s freedom.

Socialite, Cubana Chief Priest also called for his release, saying people were faking happiness and that there had been no joy since his disappearance. Cubana expressed hope that VDM gets released or that we receive good press from his abductors.

Actress, Angela Okorie while calling for the activist’s freedom noted that no one is holy.

Destiny Etiko asserted that VDM has done a lot for Nigerians. She praised him for standing up for the truth, being brave, and speaking up for those in need. She noted how he massively gives back to society as she called for his release.
