Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has broken her silence on a trending video of men wishing her evil and accusing her of derailing Justice for Mohbad.

In the clip, the men were spotted protesting on the streets of Lagos, changing “E no go better for Iyabo Ojo” in response to Mohbad’s incident.

Reacting to it, in a lengthy post on her Instagram page, she said she never affirmed that Mohbad’s death was caused by any specific individual. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken the legal and investigative action I did.

She noted that the police also invited Mohbad’s wife, brother, and several others. However, she doesn’t dictate how the police should conduct their investigations.

Iyabo noted how certain individuals have, over the years, consistently called for her death, the destruction of her source of livelihood and have engaged in public violence against her and her children without any intervention from the authorities. Iyabo made note of how a few days before her daughter’s wedding in Tanzania, she was sent a letter threatening her life at her office.

“FOR PUBLIC RECORDS

1.It is no longer news that I was recently invited by the Nigeria Police Force, National Cybercrime Centre, Abuja, over petitions bordering on cyberbullying and other allegations concerning a live video I recorded a few years ago. In that video, I requested certain individuals to make themselves available for investigation into the sudden death of Mohbad to prove their innocence or otherwise.

2.Subsequently, through my non-governmental organisation, Pinkies Foundation, we wrote letters to the Governor, Attorney General of the State, Commissioner of Police, Assistant Inspector General of Police, and several others. In these letters, we requested an independent and comprehensive investigation and a coroner’s inquest into the deceased’s death.
