“I never knew you were sick” – Actress Ngozi Ezeonu tearfully mourns colleague Nkechi Nweje

Nollywood actress Ngozi Ezeonu expressed sadness at the demise of her colleague, Nkechi Nweje.

Kemi Filani reported during the weekend that Nkechi had passed away. According to reports, the movie star died after a brief illness.

Taking to her Instagram page to mourn her, Ngozi revealed that she never knew Nkechi was sick. She expressed sadness at never seeing her smiling face again and noted how Nweje was one of the nicest people she had ever met.

Calling her death a big blow, she bade her farewell.

“It is so difficult to believe you are gone ezigbo nwanyi onicha.
I never knew you were ill. So I will never see your ever smiling face again. Nkechi, you were one of the nicest people I met in Nollywood. This is indeed a big blow. GO WELL, MY BEAUTIFUL SISTER”.

Just last month, Nollywood lost a veteran and an academia, Columbus Irisoanga. His colleague, Hilda Dokubo, posted the sad news on her Instagram page, expressing how heartbroken and heavy her heart was over the bad news.

Last year, Nollywood lost so many of their heroes. In August, legendary singer, songwriter, actress, and human rights activist Onyeka Onwenu was announced dead. The icon collapsed after performing at an 80th birthday party in Lagos and was rushed to the Hospital, where she passed away.

In June, veteran Nollywood actress Stella Ikwuegbu was announced dead. Movie producer, Stanley Ontop revealed that the actress left the world after battling with leg cancer.

In April, Nollywood lost another veteran, Zulu Adigwe, whose cause of death till date remains unknown.

Two weeks before his death, young actor, Junior Pope had died after drowning while returning from a movie location with his colleagues in a boat at Anam River in Anambra State.

On March 24th, veteran actor, Amaechi Muonagor, who had been battling kidney for almost a year kicked the bucket.

A week before his death, Nollywood producer and marketer, Ikechukwu Nnadi better known as Andy Best had passed on after a prolonged ailment at a private clinic in Owerri, Imo State.

The biggest of it all was the death of beloved veteran actor, Mr Ibu who gave up the ghost at Evercare Hospital, following a cardiac arrest.
