With a hit gospel medley already under his belt and a new track featuring legendary gospel artist Mike Abdul, Seunzzy Sax is undeniably making waves in the Nigerian gospel music scene. His journey, however, is as inspiring as his music.
“I was drawn to the power of gospel music,” Seunzzy shared in a recent interview. “Those classic tunes have a way of touching your soul. I want to use music to glorify God and touch lives. Creating the medley was a way for me to pay tribute to the pioneers of the genre.”
His latest collaboration with Mike Abdul is a testament to his rising star. “Working with Mike Abdul was a dream come true,” he enthused. “He’s an incredible artist and a mentor. I learned so much from him.”
Seunzzy Sax has words of wisdom for aspiring gospel musicians. “Stay true to your faith. Gospel music is about ministry. But remember, excellence is also important. Practice your craft relentlessly,” he advised.
Overcoming challenges is part of every artist’s journey. The cheerful gospel artist admits to facing moments of doubt. “There were times when the pressure was immense but faith pulled me through. It’s about remembering why you started,” he noted.
With a promising future ahead, Seunzzy Sax is eager to explore new musical horizons. A full-length album is in the works, promising a deeper dive into his artistry. And when asked about the role of the saxophone in gospel music, he was emphatic.
“The saxophone is my voice. I want to push the boundaries of its use in gospel music. It’s about creating a sound that’s fresh yet deeply rooted in tradition.”
