“I was referred to as a guest” – Davido recalls how he was belittled as he shares throwback photo of himself and friends during their high school prom

Nigerian award-winning music star David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has reflected on how he was belittled by his school during his school prom.

The music star, via his Instagram story, shared a throwback photo of himself and his friends at their school prom and revealed that he was referred to as a guest.

“This was my high school prom. Nah guest I be then oo”.

Over the years, Davido has proven himself to be one of the greatest of his time. He has had quite several successful albums and shows that pulled in thousands of fans. He has performed in many countries outside Africa, and he often draws mammoth crowds during his performances, which goes to show just how far his influence has gone.

In 2023, a day in the US was dedicated to him, after he shut down the city of Texas, Houston with his sold-out concert. The Mayor of Houston had declared every July 7 ‘Davido’s Day’, as he commended him for his significant contributions to the music industry.

The Federal Government had also conferred him with a national honor award, Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

Back in April of last year, Davido had bragged as he reflected on his musical journey. In a tweet, he expressed that since he came into the game, nobody has had peace, as he admitted that he loved that effect.

He had also noted how people always come together to discredit him. However, God was working overtime for him.
