Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has expressed readiness to join any arrangement to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Naijaonpoint reports that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, ex-Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, his counterpart, Rotimi Amaechi, Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and other heavyweight politicians are planning a coalition to wrest power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
Amid the coalition talks, Lamido, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated in an interview on Arise Television that he is open to joining any arrangement, regardless of its nomenclature, to remove the current government from power.
Lamido accused Tinubu’s administration of dividing Nigeria along ethnic lines and using the institution of the state in manipulating, coercing and controlling the opposition.
The ex-governor also alleged that the entire government is not for Nigerians but for the political party.
He said, “I am part of any arrangement, no matter its nomenclature, to remove this government of incompetence, insecurity, that is dividing Nigeria firmly between north and south, out of power. I will go into any arrangement for that purpose.
“I will be part of any arrangement, configuration if it is going to remove this government from power.”
