Former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida, has paid glowing tribute to Mr Sam Amuka-Pemu, chairman/Publisher, Vanguard Media Ltd on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
General Babangida, popularly called IBB hailed Sam Amuka longstanding friendship with him describing it as one of “mutual trust and respect” just as he acknowledges the Vannguard publisher’s “loyalty, dedication and generosity of spirit”
In a letter he personally signed, IBB who described Sam Amuka as ‘Man Wey Know Man’, also commended the publisher’s “wisdom, wit, and insight “.
IBB’s letter to the man he also called Uncle Sam, said, “Today marks a remarkable milestone in your extraordinary life, and I am honoured to celebrate this special day with you.
“Our friendship has blossomed through over half a century of mutual trust and respect, and your loyalty, dedication and generosity of spirit are qualities which I have always cherished.
“As an erudite journalist, editor and arguably our nation’s most successful newspaper proprietor, your contributions to our nation’s discourse and its very development,remain invaluable.
“Moreover, as a man of the world, your wisdom, wit, and insight continue to entertain and inspire countless individuals, incuding my humble self.
“On this day, as you accomplish the incredible feat of reaching the remarkable age of 90 and thriving, I wish to thank you for the times when you gave me so much joy through your kindness and unalloyed support, and to wish you even more good health, happiness, and abundant years of fruitful Iiving.
“May your birthday be filled with good memories, rekindling your great joy for life, and your boundless love for humanity.
