The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has stated that self-help is not permissible in aviation anywhere.

Naijaonpoint reports that NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mike Achimugu, made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, while speaking on the incident involving ‘unruly passenger’, Comfort Emmanson.

Achimugu also promised fairness over the incident involving Emmanson and the cabin crew, but warned that “unruly” behaviour will be dealt with within the ambit of the law.

He said, “The point I am trying to make is that no matter the provocation, rest assured that you can always file your complaints with the NCAA, and it will be dealt with. Self-help is not permissible in aviation anywhere.

“On our part, we will ensure to see the end of it and that there is fairness on every side.”

Meanwhile, Achimugu has shared a preliminary investigation regarding Comfort Emmason’s airport incident.

Naijaonpoint reports that a fresh video, which surfaced online, showed the controversial moment an Ibom Air crew member physically blocked Emmanson from disembarking an aircraft after landing, further fuelling public anger over what many Nigerians describe as the airline’s humiliating treatment of her.

In the video, Emmanson can be heard saying in Pidgin: “Madam abeg comot for road, make I pass. Can you see now, I want to go out and she is standing on the way.”

In an interview with Daily Post, Achimugu said Emmanson displayed unruly behaviour mid-air, giving the middle finger to other passengers and the cabin crew.

Achimugu also clarified that the air hostess blocked Emmanson’s exit because she assaulted her when everyone had left the plane.
