The counsel to Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger who was assaulted by staff of the airline has said that his client is yet to decide on taking legal steps against the airline.
Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, Adefunke Maria condemned the conduct of the airline staff against Emmanson.
She said that at the right time, the passenger will inform her legal team on the way forward with the actions meted out on her.
“On the way forward, whether Comfort will allow sleeping dogs to lie, she will inform us. We can’t disclose that online.
“She is a full-grown adult. If she is going to press civil charges for compensation, she will let us know,” Maria said.
Speaking further, Maria said since her release from Kirikiri Correctional Facility, Emmanson would need some personal time to rest.
Accusing the airline of acting unprofessionally in the matter, Maria said it is unfortunate that the courier’s staff made a video of her client, ripped her clothes off her body and posted it online.
“But for now, we can’t decide for her. She will revert. For now, she just needs to rest and put herself together,” she said.
