Deji Adeyanju, a lawyer and activist has said that rather than support Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, he would vote for Bola Tinubu in the next election.

Adeyanju while speaking during an interview with Channels Television also debunked claims that he is a supporter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Tinubu.

He said, “Why would somebody like me, God forbid that I support APC.

“If the opposition presents Peter Obi, I will vote Tinubu because we cannot have a situation where people… a man who leads a mob that terrorises people online; cannot tolerate criticism,” Adeyanju said.

The lawyer who was recently slammed with a defamation suit by Obi said the former governor leads a mob that attacks anyone who is critical of his candidacy.

“A mob that calls people all sorts of names. Anybody who does not support their candidate is an enemy of Nigeria. Anybody who does not support their candidate has been paid or compromised into supporting the government.

“Has Peter Obi criticised the government the way I have? Does Peter Obi even know what democracy is?

“What sacrifices has he made for democracy? We have put our lives on the line for this country, for the preservation of democracy at the personal expense of prosecution. What kind of charges have we not faced in this country? At one time I was also charged with terrorism, they’ve charged me for all kinds of offences in this country,” he stated.

Adeyanju further stated that everyone must be interested in sanitising Nigeria’s polity to make room for good governance and service to the people.
