In another video from the event, Queen Ashley was captured singing a special song to God as she stated that only those who know her story and her history with the Ooni will understand why she is singing. She also spoke on how God answered her prayers for a male child for the man she loves. “I am thanking God for everything He has done in my life. I promised Him that when I have a baby, I will sing a special song to Him in front of people. If you know my history with my husband, you will understand this song and its meaning. You didn’t just make me give birth; my husband is hale and hearty, I am also healthy, and our baby is hale and hearty, too. Lord, I am grateful”. Kemi Filani reported in September, last year, that the couple had announced the birth of their first child, a baby boy. Queen Ashley noted how, for over a decade, the enemies tried in her relationship with the monarch, but God made them victorious. She revealed that last year was a little dark for them as they lost twins, but God remained faithful. In a follow-up post, while sharing a video of her cradling her baby bump, she reacted to the backlash she received for calling her newborn a crown prince, explaining that her son is a prince from her side and that of his father. Recall that the Ooni of Ife finally married his fourth wife, Princess Ashley in October, 2023. This was a dream come true for Princess Ashley, who had been a long time concubine of the monarch.
