‘If You Must Write Result, Write Your Will Before That Time’ – Otti Sends Warning To Those Planning To Rig

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has declared that no amount of threats or plots to manipulate election results in the state ahead of 2027 will succeed, warning that anyone contemplating rigging should “write their will” first.

Naijaonpoint reports that Otti gave the warning on Thursday during the October edition of Alex Otti Speaks to Abians held at the Government House, Umuahia.

The governor was reacting to comments credited to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, who had boasted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would take over Abia in 2027.

The Labour Party governor dismissed the claim as political posturing, saying the mandate of Abians cannot be subverted.

“I have heard that some people around him say, oh, they must take over this state, they must write results. The only advice I have for them is that if they truly want to write results, they should write something else before that time. You know what it is? Their will,” Otti said.

He added that only the will of God and the people of Abia would determine the outcome of the next election.

Otti described Kalu as a “friend and younger brother” but noted that political ambition must not destroy the peace in the state.

“I am not afraid of threats. He is entitled to contest the 2027 governorship election, but he must learn to play according to the rules,” he stated.

The governor also said he had forgiven Kalu for what he described as unwarranted criticisms of his administration.

Responding to speculations that he might defect to the APC, Otti clarified that he remains a committed member of the Labour Party.
