…vows to end cabal politics
A renowned businessman, Mr. Babatunde Oralusi, has declared his intention to contest the 2026 Osun State Governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Oralusi made the official declaration on Thursday in his hometown, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Announcing his ambition, Oralusi described himself as the most prepared, innovative, competent, and credible candidate to win the 2026 governorship election for the APC.
He stated that development should begin from the state and local government levels, emphasizing his commitment to restoring full autonomy and functionality to local councils.
The APC Chieftain added that every local government under his administration would serve as a center of development, enterprise, and opportunities, with a focus on rebuilding infrastructure, empowering youths, expanding access to education, and leveraging technology to create jobs and wealth for the people.
Oralusi also commended other APC aspirants for their participation in the race, noting that while they may have different faces, their mission remains the same, to make Osun better.
He expressed respect for Senator Iyiola Omisore, describing him as an elder brother and mentor whose contributions to Ile-Ife and Osun State have inspired many.
The business mogul called for a generational transition, urging support for the younger generation to advance the development of the state and the nation. Oralusi expressed confidence that with the blessing of Omisore and other elders, the party would emerge stronger and more united.
The APC chieftain pledged to end what he described as the era of entitlement and cabal politics in Osun State. He said the time had come to stop a few individuals from treating the state’s collective wealth as personal inheritance and from cornering opportunities meant for the people.
He maintained that the era in which Osun’s common resources were held hostage by a privileged few must give way to a new dawn of accountability, transparency, and shared prosperity.
Oralusi said Osun State belongs to all its citizens and that governance must serve the people rather than the privileged class. He called for collective efforts to reclaim the state’s destiny and return governance to the citizens, stressing that the time for transformation is now and that no one would be left behind.
