Igbo passengers not attacked in Kano, it’s fake news – Police

The Kano State Police Command has refuted social media reports claiming an attack on an 18-seater passenger bus in Kano, labeling the information as false.

This clarification was made in a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, on Saturday.

Kiyawa emphasized that the reports were entirely misleading.

“The police command reiterates its dedication to maintaining law and order, ensuring the safety and security of all residents, and fostering harmony among the community,” he stated.

Kiyawa further announced that an investigation is underway to identify the source of the fake news, and those responsible for spreading it will be held accountable.

“The command urges the public to ignore this misinformation and avoid sharing unverified news that could lead to panic, harm, and unrest,” he added.
