Igbo Vote: Umahi Is Deceiving Tinubu – PDP Chieftain, Nwali

A former Media Director of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South East, Nwafor Richard Nwali, has said President Bola Tinubu cannot get the votes of Ndi Igbo in 2027 election.

Nwali said the Minister of Works, David Umahi, statement that South East governors are working for President Tinubu’s re-election is deceptive.

The former Governor of Ebonyi State, in an upcoming documentary on Tinubu’s two years in office, released by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed that South East governors are planning an endorsement event for Tinubu.

“All the governors in the South East, regardless of party affiliation, are working with the President. We’re even planning a summit to bring together all South-East leaders to endorse the President for the 2027 elections formally. We want our projects to be completed, the country’s unity to be strengthened and proper integration of Ndi Igbo,” Umahi said.

Speaking with Naijaonpoint on Wednesday, Nwali, who is Ebonyi State PDP Publicity Secretary, described Umahi’s statement as baseless.

He stated that PDP’s South East Governor cannot work for Tinubu’s re-election. “David Umahi’s claims are baseless, unsubstantiated and lack merit,” he said.

He recalled that Umahi had earlier said Ndi Igbo would vote for Tinubu, adding that the former Ebonyi Governor prefers to deceive the President on his chances in 2027.

“For clarity, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (President of Nigeria) failed woefully in all ramifications, especially on security, infrastructure, education and manpower development.

“I doubt he (Umahi) has any information; if you can remember, David Nweze Umahi has made countless allegations that he could not prove, in a bid to deceive Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his personal gains. Umahi is motivated by personal gains, not for the interest of Ndi Igbo,” he stated.

The member of the South East PDP’s Contact and Mobilization Committee assured Ndi Igbo that PDP would come back stronger in 2027 to protect their interests.

“May I use this medium to urge ndi Igbo to keep faith in the PDP as only credible opposition. As leaders of the party in the zone, we will do everything within the ambit of the law to rebuild and strengthen the PDP for 2027 general election.

“We will offer the Nigerians people-oriented policies and programs, salvage the current quagmire orchestrated by the ruling All Progressives Congress,” the Ebonyi PDP spokesman added.
