Speaking to Symfoni TV, Ibiyeomie said, “No Ijaw man contest for office twice before, but today Ijaw people can contest for office. That curse is over.” He stressed he stayed silent for years and is not personally pursuing office, leaving politics to the next generation.
The pastor also credited his ministry with ending violent clashes between Rivers’ ethnic groups like Ogoni, Andoni, Okrika, and Eleme. Drawing parallels with America’s “Curse of Tippecanoe,” he framed the breakthrough as a divine shift in political destiny for his people.
