Gradually but steadily, Obioma Ofoegbu is carving a distinct place for herself in Nollywood.
The Imo State–born actress has emerged as one of the industry’s promising new faces, earning attention not only for her talent but also for her compelling screen presence.
In a recent interview, Ofoegbu spoke candidly about her approach to acting, noting that while she is open to exploring a broad range of characters, she is also guided by clearly defined personal boundaries.
According to her, she is comfortable taking on romantic roles, including deep-kissing scenes, provided they are essential to the storyline and serve a clear narrative purpose.
“I don’t mind romantic or deep-kissing roles as long as they are significant to the story and enhance the narrative,” she said. “As an artist, my goal is to make such moments as realistic as possible. However, I will not accept any blasphemous role. That is a definite no for me. Any consciously blasphemous role is off-limits, regardless of how attractive the offer may be.”
Speaking on how she spent her Christmas, the fast-rising actress revealed that after several months away from home due to work commitments, she prioritised rest and reconnection with family. “I’ve missed my family, and I’ve been away for a while, so I had to spend time with them,” she explained, adding that there were no travel plans this year, as her family chose to celebrate the season together in Abuja.
Reflecting on her childhood, Ofoegbu described Christmas as a season marked by warmth, excitement, and togetherness. She fondly recalled family dinners as one of her most cherished traditions, which felt even more special on Christmas Day. “After a sumptuous lunch, we would visit amusement parks and later have dinner together. I also got new clothes and gifts from my parents. It was a day I always looked forward to,” she reminisced. “Those memories mean a lot to me, and I hope to recreate them because they were truly special.”
As 2025 ends today, the Always You star actress said gratitude remains central to her reflections. She expressed appreciation for life, family, friendships, and the professional opportunities the year has brought her. Among her notable accomplishments is a comic series she produced, which is set to premiere soon on her YouTube channel.
“I am truly thankful for everything,” she said.
