The governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori has said that he is set to receive James Ibori, a former governor of the state and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oborevwori said he is looking forward to welcoming the former Delta governor to the ruling party.

He made this assertion while speaking during a vigil mass at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Otu-Jeremi, in Ughelli South LGA, held in honour of Amos Utuama, former deputy governor of Delta.

Oborevwori who defected to the APC from the PDP alongside other key members of the party on April 23, said there is no need to leave their political family scattered.

Noting that sentiments towards political issues break a family, Oborevwori said it is important that the leader, elders and the people speak in one voice.

“So that when our leader leaves here and goes home, you will see your (political) family, today is scattered, and when you go to Abuja, you won’t speak in different voices.

“You are speaking here, other people are speaking here, so you will sleep well. It is now the time for you to lead us well,” the governor said.

Further going spiritual, he prayed that very soon, Ibori would join the ruling party.

According to him, Ibori has created a big family in Delta State and that family must remain united in one party.

“You know, you must talk to your elders and seek counsel from the elders.

“When you are leading your children, some are in APC, some are in Labour Party, some are here, and I asked him (Ibori), ‘when is he going to join us?’ And I know he will join us very soon in APC. I will receive our leader in Jesus’ name,” he added.
