‘I’m A Core Democrat’ – Sacked Benue Commissioner Speaks On Link With ADC To Work Against Alia

The immediate past Benue Commissioner for Power, Renewable Energy, and Transport, Omale Omale, has denied any connection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and any involvement in working against Governor Hyacinth Alia.

Naijaonpoint reports that Omale’s remark comes amid some media reports suggesting that he was romantically involved with the ADC ahead of the 2027 election.

However, Omale, in a statement on Monday in Makurdi, said that as a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he has yet to see any reason to abandon the party.

The former Commissioner said he has sacrificed so much for the APC in the past and cannot abandon the party now, only to turn back to a political party that is yet to find its footing.

The former APC state legal adviser vowed to continue supporting Alia.

He said, “I overcame obstacles and defeated the enemy within and outside to ensure that we enthroned Gov. Hyacinth Alia in 2023.

“I was privileged to be appointed as a commissioner in the state. I have a very bright future in the party and a strong belief that my time is about to come.

“I cannot, in good conscience, do all these and turn back to romance with a political party that is yet to find its footing.

“This fake romance is outrightly untrue and deliberately designed to destroy my good relationship with our dear governor. What are these rumour-mongers afraid of? I am a core democrat and believe that we should play politics according to the rules.

“I am an Alia supporter and will continue to support him. He is the leader of my political party and the state, and I have no single reason to stop supporting him.”
