Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has reacted warmly to the presence of Fulham supporters Abby and Phillip, who travelled from London to Fez to support Nigeria during their clash against Mozambique, Soccernet.ng reports.
Earlier, Ademola Victor ran into the Fulham fans at Al-Qarawiyyin University in Fes—the oldest university in the world—amid a bustling crowd.
During a brief conversation, they revealed that their trip to Morocco was mainly to support Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze, the Super Eagles trio currently plying their trade in the Premier League.

Abby and Phillip hit Fez to support Fulham players
Abby and her father, Phillip, both lifelong Fulham fans who live close to Craven Cottage, flew in from the United Kingdom the night before the match to cheer on Nigeria.
Wearing Fulham’s black-and-white scarves and jackets, they explained that their decision was driven by the club’s Nigerian stars — Iwobi, Bassey and Chukwueze.

Describing the trio as “the three best players we have on our team,” the fans said they follow them wherever they play and were eager to see them in action for the Super Eagles on the AFCON stage.

“I’m chuffed,” the Super Eagles defender told Soccernet.ng. “I’m so happy. I’m happy to see that we Nigerian boys are having an impact on the Fulham fans. We’re so thankful for the support, honestly.”

Bassey added that the gesture meant a lot to the players and joked that he hoped to hear from them personally after the game.
