“Imagine being 20 plus and having a son that’s 10” – Late Mr Ibu’s adopted daughter, Jasmine Okafor recalls her ordeal as a teenage mother as she unveils son

Jasmine Okafor, the adopted daughter of late Nollywood actor John Okafor, better known as Mr Ibu, has unveiled her son.

The Instagram influencer, via her Instagram page, shared photos of her and her son in matching outfits as she noted how she is 20 plus with a 10-year-old son. She stated that what felt like the biggest mistake of her life at the time had become her biggest blessing.

She recounted how people told her to abort her child as she was young and it would affect her career, but she summoned the courage to carry on, and thanks to her mother, she was able to handle it. Jasmine recalled how the father of her son told her he wasn’t ready to be a father, and to God be the glory, they haven’t lacked anything.

And till now, it’s just me, my boy, my mum, and guess what? We have never lacked anything good! It’s been God! It’s been such a ride! Which is why, lately, I am open to adopting more kids! Recall that in 2023, it was alleged that Jasmine was in an intimate relationship with Mr Ibu and it was confirmed when an audio leaked online of Mr Ibu admitting to it.

This corroborated his wife’s claim during an online rant that her husband was sleeping with Jasmine, an allegation which they both denied.

Jasmine, unfortunately, fell out with Mr Ibu’s family following his death as she was arrested alongside Mr Ibu’s son for allegedly defrauding the veteran of the sum of N55 million.

The investigation unearthed text messages via WhatsApp between Jasmine and Daniel detailing how they conspired and hatched their criminal plans. It was also exposed that the two had a sham marriage at the Ikoyi Magistrate Registry with plans to escape from the country to the UK where they intended to settle with their proceeds of crime.

Speaking out, Jasmine shed light on the incident as she narrated how she met Mr Ibu. In a lengthy post, she noted how the good deeds she did for his family were translated to evil as she expressed heartbreak over the incident.
