A sociopolitical group, Imole Accord Vanguard, has vowed to mobilize one million votes for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election in the 2026 governorship poll.
The group announced the plan on Wednesday during a press conference held at Imole House in Osogbo to formally unveil the organisation.
Addressing newsmen, the Coordinator of the group, Hezekiah Oladele Bamiji, said the group would spread the message of the Imole Accord across the nooks and crannies of Osun State.
Bamiji noted that the governor’s political transition reflected a realignment of values, principles, and development philosophy, adding that Adeleke and Accord were forming a progressive alliance for sustainable development.
He said that the group was in solidarity with the governor and fully supported his decision to join Accord, stressing that their focus was on the credibility of the candidate presented by the party.
Bamiji reaffirmed the group’s commitment to grassroots mobilization and strategic communication to support Adeleke’s re-election bid under Accord.
He affirmed that the group would continue to promote messages of unity and progress while educating the public on the ideological alignment between Imole and Accord.
Bamiji emphasized that Governor Adeleke’s movement to Accord signaled a new phase for the state, describing it as a light spreading across Osun with strengthened cohesion among supporters.
He confirmed that Adeleke had implemented several reforms, including clearing backlogs of salaries and arrears owed by previous administrations and promoting civil servants left stagnant for years.
Bamiji also noted that the administration had constructed over 250km of roads across the state, including the dualization of Old Garage–Okefia–Lameco Road and the completion of the abandoned Oba Adesoji Aderemi Road.
He listed other projects such as the completion of Osogbo–Ikirun–Ila-Odo Road Phase II, the Akoda–Oke Gada dualization, and ongoing dualization works in Ilesa, Ila, and Iwo.
The Imole Accord Vanguard Coordinator said the government had enrolled over 26,000 pensioners, 1,200 inmates, and persons living with disabilities into the Osun Health Insurance Scheme and conducted free surgeries for inmates.
Bamiji added that 200 primary healthcare centres had been renovated with solar power installations, earning the state a $500,000 grant.
He mentioned that a grand coalition of political parties would soon align with Accord, noting that their shared objective was to ensure the re-election of Governor Adeleke on August 8, 2026.
