The Rivers State House of Assembly on Friday, declared that the impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and his Deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu, would continue as planned.
The lawmakers, in a decision at the resumed plenary on Friday, unanimously voted in support of an investigation of the allegations of gross misconduct against Fubara and his deputy.
They agreed that the allegations against them should proceed to the next level of investigation.
Naijaonpoint reports that the sitting was presided over by Speaker Martins Amaewhule.
Based on the resolution, the lawmakers called on the Chief Judge of the state to set up a panel to investigate the allegations of gross misconduct against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.
“This voting clearly shows the decision of the House,” Amaewhule declared while calling on the Chief Judge of the state to set up a panel of investigation.
