Nigerian Singer Harrison Tare Okiri, popularly known as Harrysong, has called on President Bola Tinubu to address insecurity by improving the earnings of security personnel across the country.
Naijaonpoint reports that he made the call in a message he posted on Instagram, where he raised concern over the current salaries and allowances of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police and other security units.
He stated that the pay given to those who risk their lives daily to protect the country remains too low.
Harrysong said that boosting their welfare would motivate officers and strengthen the fight against crime.
He urged the government to make the job more rewarding for those on the front line.
He wrote: “TO MR PRESIDENT. IF YOU REALLY, TRULY WANNA END INSECURITY IN NIGERIA 🇳🇬 ? start by increasing the salary and allowances of the armed forces, the salary of the army, the navy, air force, the nigerian police force, is too small, is too shameful, increase their salary, this job should be worth dying for.Increase their salaries ooooooo pls and pls.”
