A Nigerian national, identified as Chukuwuma, has been apprehended by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Bengaluru, India, for alleged involvement in drug trafficking.

According to a report by India Today, the arrest took place during a targeted operation by the CCB’s Narcotics Wing in the Avalahalli area of North Bengaluru.

Authorities seized a cache of MDMA and crystal-like substances valued at over ₹1.2 crore (approximately N214 million).

Preliminary investigations indicate that Chukuwuma has been operating in the illegal drug trade since 2013, reportedly importing narcotics into India and distributing them—primarily in the outskirts of Bengaluru.

Police say he is suspected to be part of a larger international drug syndicate and had been under surveillance for several weeks leading up to his arrest.

Chukuwuma is currently in police custody and is being interrogated as authorities work to dismantle the broader network involved in the illicit drug operation.
