The Independent National Electoral Commission has resumed the Continuous Voter Registration exercise across the country, marking the beginning of the second phase of the programme.
Naijaonpoint reports that the new phase started on Monday after the first round of registration came to an end on December 10, 2025.
The first phase began with online pre-registration on August 18, 2025, followed by physical enrolment from August 25 at approved centres nationwide.
During the earlier phase, the commission said 9,891,801 people began the process online.
Out of this number, 2,572,054 completed their registration as of November 28, 2025.
This total includes 1,503,832 online completions and 1,068,222 physical registrations.
INEC stated that the break between the two phases was used for legal procedures, such as displaying the voters’ register for corrections and objections at local government offices where registration had taken place.
The commission called on Nigerians who have not yet registered to make use of this fresh window to enroll, move their polling units, or update their personal details.
Those who already registered earlier are also advised to confirm their records and report any mistakes or wrongful entries.
However, the voter registration exercise is still on hold in Anambra State and the Federal Capital Territory because of ongoing election-related activities in those areas.
INEC said new dates for both locations will be made known later.
