Information Minister Felicitates with Former Governor Babangida Aliyu at 70

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has felicitated with Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, former Governor of Niger state, as he turned 70 years.

Idris described Dr Aliyu as political behemoth who has made positive impact on people.

The statement reads: “It is with every sense of humility that I felicitate with one of Nigeria’s most outstanding public servants, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, CON, former Executive Governor of Niger state, who turned 70 years today.

“His Excellency Babangida Aliyu, a committed career civil servant, also effectively strived through the maze of politics and was eventually elected the Executive Governor of Niger State, where he diligently served for two terms, from 2007 to 2015.

“I am exceedingly delighted to felicitate with such a political behemoth who started early in life, positively impacting the career path of numerous Nigerlites and Nigerians at large.

“His service to Nigeria and as a distinguished chairman of the Northern Governors Forum bear testament to his dedication to the growth and development of the country.

“With a range of noble traditional titles to his name, notably – the Talban Minna and the Sodangin Nupe, amongst others, His Excellency Babangida Aliyu, has built a solid reputation as a bridge between our nation’s founding political class and contemporary leaders.

“On a day like this, I want to salute your courage and resilience, and also wish you a long, healthy life, as we continue to share the grace of your abundant knowledge and wisdom.
May Allah continue to guide you,” the statement concluded.
