The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Abubakar Wase, has tasked troops of the 18 Brigade, Bida, Niger on professionalism.
This is contained in a statement by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 1 Division Nigerian Army, Lt.-Col. Shuaib Umar said this in a statement on Friday in Kaduna.
Umar said the GOC, who doubled as Commander Sector 1 Joint Tasks Force Operation Fansan Yamma gave the charge in a maiden familiarisation visit to the 18 Brigade Headquarters in Bida, Niger.
Umar said that the GOC was received by the Commander, 18 Brigade Brig.-Gen Ibrahim Gambari at the Brigade Quarter Guard before proceeding to the Brigade Complex where he was briefed at the Brigade Operations Room.
He said the commander 18 Brigade congratulated the GOC for his well deserved appointment, adding that the GOC, addressed Troops at the Brigade Parade Ground and later tour the Brigade Hall of Fame and laid wreath to honour the fallen heroes
Umar also disclosed that Wase inaugurated the 18 Stallion Mini-Mart established by the Bridge Commander to cushion the effect of traveling to BIda town to procure daily needs and Corporal and bellow Quarters in Litani Barracks.
He said the GOC was conducted round all Army Headquarters (AHQ) ongoing projects in the barracks, including Brigade’s ongoing project which the GOC commended.
Umar added that the GOC inspected some ongoing projects and later proceeded to Forward Operating Base, Tegina, where he also addressed troops and urged them to be professional in the discharge of their duties. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
