Former Chief of Army staff (COAS), Lt. General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd) has noted that the nation’s military troops in the field fighting insurgents are making Nigeria proud by their gallant efforts and performance.
General Buratai on his Facebook page wrote that he has full confidence that the military would sooner than later surmount security challenges across the country.
The former COAS wrote, “I have the full confidence that the Nigerian military will do its best to surmount the security challenges across the country. The support of all other security agencies is needed to achieve the desired end state of a secure and peaceful Nigeria.
”It was a nice home coming to my roots, Buratai town. While there, I met the gallant troops in the field doing the nation proud. I commended the Commanding Officer, the officers and soldiers of the 135 Special Forces Battalion, Forward Operation Base, Buratai on their recent exploits in decimating the Boko Haram Terrorists that attempted to infiltrate their location. I urged the troops to maintain the tempo and keep the flag flying.
”The Sector Commander, Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai, and the 27 Brigade Commander were on ground. I commended them for their purposeful leadership in the field.
”The Theatre Commander Operation Hadin Kai on getting to know I was around, he called me where I equally commended him for the good operational leadership he is providing to the troops. Overall, I commended the COAS Lt Gen OO Oluyede, who also called, for his strategic leadership and morale boosting efforts for the troops operating across the country”.
