WATCH THE VIDEO HERE In a recent statement, Adeyanju challenged the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), questioning why Falana has not condemned the arrest or advocated for his client, VDM. He also alluded to a comparable situation during Muhammadu Buhari’s presidency, asserting that he was the first to voice opposition to that case, despite having been a target himself. “Our revered leader and mentor, Femi Falana SAN yet to condemn the arrest of VDM. Interesting times indeed,” Adeyanju wrote on his 𝕏 handle on Monday, May 5. “When the boy that lead people to attack me under Buhari became a victim under the same Buhari and was arrested, I was the first person to condemn it,” Adeyanju recalled. In a statement on Monday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) spokesman, Dele Oyewale, disclosed that VeryDarkMan was taken into custody following petitions from several individuals on cyberstalking allegations. Naijaonpoint reports that VDM’s arrest has caused a lingering controversy with celebrities and influencers calling for his release, while others have taken to the streets of Abuja to protest on his behalf. Meanwhile, barely two weeks ago, Deji Adeyanju claimed that the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi and his counterpart in the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, worked for President Bola Tinubu in the last election. He asserted that Obi is likely to work for Tinubu again and will most probably refuse to join the coalition. Speaking via a post shared on his 𝕏 page, Adeyanju disclosed what must be done for the coalition by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to succeed. He argued that all self-centred politicians like Atiku and Obi must be neutral and not run in 2027. According to Adeyanju, “I’m 100% convinced that Obi worked for Tinubu in 2023 & will do so again. I might be wrong, but I’m convinced in my mind about this. “Once a businessman, always a businessman man. Those still in doubt will see the clear handwriting before 2027. He will refuse to join the coalition. “Kwankwaso also worked for Tinubu. For the coalition to succeed, all the self-centred politicians like Atiku & Obi should promise not to run and allow neutral folks to run against Tinubu. “This is how to put the interest of the nation above personal interest. The biggest industry in Africa is politics. “And those around popular politicians are all merchants. This is why once politics is around the corner, they are in business. Con men and women who just want to cash out. This is why they never tell politicians the truth.”
The arrest of controversial social media commentator, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has sparked controversy, as his attorney, Deji Adeyanju, has publicly criticised Femi Falana for his silence on the matter.
