Veteran Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, better known as 2face or 2baba, has expressed frustration over his never-ending drama with his former labelmate, Blackface.

Naijaonpoint reports that 2Baba, in an interview with media personality Nedu, confirmed that he had a collaboration with Blackface but wrote most of the popular hit songs.

The ‘True Love’ crooner said he is unaware of Blackface’s intention regarding the consistent online attack.

According to the legendary singer, it is absurd and painful that Blackface has always been out to smear his name despite showing him respect.

He said, “It was a collaboration. I wrote most of the song, actually, but we wrote it together. I’m not somebody who comes and starts dragging words. I don’t know what his intentions were, and I don’t know what I have ever done to him.

“I’ve always shown him respect, but he has always been out there to smear my name. They are absurd, ridiculous and very painful at times. And, till today, I just wonder why? That’s the only thing I have in my head. What’s the reason, it’s just ridiculous.”

Meanwhile, 2Baba has addressed his separation from his wife of over a decade, Annie Macaulay.

Naijaonpoint recalls that the ‘African Queen’ crooner, who tied the knot with Annie in May 2012, announced their divorce in January 2025 and his new relationship with Edo State Lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru.

In an interview on the 234 Mzansi Podcast, hosted by media personality, Nedu, 2Baba said they had given their best efforts to save the marriage but ultimately decided to part ways because it was not working.

The 49-year-old singer, who declined to provide specific details about the failed marriage, described Annie as an amazing woman and emphasised that no one should feel pressured to stay in an unhappy union.

Speaking further, 2Baba also argued that it is biologically impossible for men to be sexually committed to one woman.
